Wahpeton, North Dakota - World's Largest Catfish Locally referred to as the Wahpper, this 40' catfish is
billed as the world's largest. When we checked into the motel the clerk
asked why we had come to Wahpeton. We replied, "We have come to see the
catfish."
We were given directions and the next morning went to see the fish. A man was doing repairs and started to move aside to allow us to take pictures. We asked that he let us take his picture along with us, and we then learned that he was the artist who had created this sculpture along with many others. His name is Dave Oswald, from Sparta, WI. His company is called DWO Fiberglass Company......very interesting fellow. [Tony, 10/21/2000]
