Leesburg, Virginia - Mighty Midget Kitchen The Mighty Midget Kitchen is again open, although the name on the receipt reads Hamburg Doner, and they serve bratwurst and schnitzel instead of barbecue. The neon sign still reads Mighty Midget, however. You place your orders in a house next door, they cook it inside the aluminum structure, and bring it out to you at picnic tables next to both buildings. [Todd MacDermid, 04/27/2008][RA: B-17 bombers (not B-29s, scraps which make up the outer hull of the Mighty Midget Kitchen), were used to bomb the original city of Hamburg in Germany.]
Leesburg, Virginia - Mighty Midget Kitchen I stopped by the Mighty Midget Kitchen and found three men working on the restaurant, which has closed. I spoke to one of them, a reddish-haired fellow with a German accent, who said that they were waiting for one more piece of equipment, and then they would be ready to have their inspection. He thought, if all went well, that the Mighty Midget Kitchen would reopen a week from now. [Julie Mangin, 03/19/2008]
Leesburg, Virginia - Mighty Midget Kitchen In December 2007 it was announced the BBQ company needed to vacate, as the Mighty Midget Kitchen will become German food. Those loving B'z BBQ can still enjoy it roughly four miles up the street. [Jason Margolies, 02/22/2008]
Leesburg, Virginia - Mighty Midget Kitchen The MM Kitchen is still up and running and doing quite well. It has no resemblance to an aircraft fuselage but still looks pretty cool. We didn't eat there due to the limited seating (a couple of picnic tables) but found a good pizza place across the street. [Gary Penta, 10/06/2007]
Leesburg, Virginia - Mighty Midget Kitchen The Mighty Midget Kitchen is my favorite restaurant in Northern Virginia! It's constructed from a piece of recycled B-29 bomber. It was slated for destruction around 2000, and Leesburg residents were upset about its destruction. The Town of Leesburg assumed the deed, and the kitchen moved to its current location. The town rents the "facility" to B'z BBQ. It is so awesome! It's a piece of history, and a good bbq place all at the same time! [Anita Smallin, 02/18/2006]
