Twin Falls, Idaho - Evel Knievel Snake River Ramp

While visiting Idaho, I stopped in Twin Falls to see Evel Knievel's Snake River Jump ramp. A granite monument is located in the parking lot of the Visitor's Center on the SW side of the Hwy 93 bridge into town. The ramp is about 2 miles east of this location and best viewed from the south rim walk on the SE side of the bridge. I tried to get closer, but the streets I took led me to the "No Tresspassing" signs of the Twin Falls Police Department Shooting Range. An employee of Best Buy located there along the south rim walk told me that he never tried to go over there, but thought the ramp was used as a bullet backstop. [Mike Weeks, 04/13/2005]
