Minneapolis, Minnesota - Spoonbridge and Cherry Surely this qualifies as the world's largest spoon? Or the world's largest spoon with a cherry? Or the world's largest spoon with a cherry that sprays water from its stem?
It's called "Spoonbridge and Cherry" and is yet another work by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, who have installed lots of other big things. This one's at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden on the grounds of the Walker Art Center. A trip inside the Walker Art Center will set you back ten bucks (and is well worth it, too) but viewing the spoon, along with 40+ other sculptures, is free. [Dean Jeffrey, 01/14/2009]
