It was absolutely heartbreaking to learn about the bucket being set on fire. It broke my father's heart. His father (Howard Crigger) passed away when my father was only 19. The bucket meant so much to my father and his sister.
We look forward to the rebuilding of the World's Largest Cedar Bucket. I cannot wait to have my young families picture taken in front of it, as we have had many times over the years. [Jill P, 11/19/2008]

Murfreesboro, Tennessee - World's Largest Red Cedar Bucket There is a small pioneer village set up near downtown
Murfreesboro, TN called Cannonsburg, and it's home to the world's largest red
cedar bucket. Three friends and I went there last year for a psychology
project, and we all agreed that the whole place was remarkably interesting.
The highlight is the cedar bucket, which we all hugged numerous times, as
well as the original steps to the Rutherford County courthouse, an antique
fire engine, and a battle diorama using green army men to symbolize the
soldiers in the Civil War.
As an interesting tidbit about the bucket, when it was originally built and displayed, it was filled with beer to prove that it was leak proof. [Julie Williams, 11/22/2000]
