Franklin, North Carolina - Scottish Tartan Museum The Scottish Tartan Museum was created as a place for the descendants of the Scots immigrants to the North Carolina region to learn about their heritage. The museum downstairs, while a bit cheesy, does give an informative history and evolution of the tartan and kilt. The store in the upstairs area has modern Scottish paraphernalia... And they will order your clan tartan for the asking. I usually try to make a stop here if I'm traveling through the area...As a lad of Scots heritage, it' muh dooty! [Kevin Liske, 03/22/2005]
